    Boston Marathon

It's a good thing I hate running and my sister is not crazy about cycling.

My sister qualified and IS running in the Boston tomorrow.

i don't think my mother could tolerate the two of us, my sister and me, if we had the same interest. We would have been at each others throat as to which one of us was better. I didn't think she was much of type A personality like me. But then again maybe she is. Can't stand to be second best. She said she was okay with it few years ago when she missed her qualifying time by mere seconds. She went back at it and now qualified.

I wish her safe run tomorrow.

I'm really proud of her. Breast cancer survivor and being able to run at such level.

    SGF is running it, too.
    Happy Patriot's Day!
Me, I'm going on a 40 mile ride, in a northwesterly direction, as to avoid any runners or Minutemen with muskets marching down the road.

I won't be around to watch the race--getting ready to head to Maine to look for a place to live since it looks like the new job will be starting around the beginning of June if all continues to go well.

My sister is running Boston today too! I'm tracking her online and she's doing great. I just wish I could be there. I don't think much work will get done around here for a couple of hours...

My friend - and his friend whom I almost feel like I know from FB - both ran great.

And a big new men's world record! Wow.

I'm well aware that between my crash, family issues, etc., etc., I'd never have been able to train, so not signing up was just as well. But there's a part of me that really wishes I was there.

I ran it as well. It was my first marathon and it was harder than I had expected. I ran as part of Team In Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The first half was great and I was keeping on pace, although looking back I think my pace was a little faster than it should have been. I started slowing down around mile 16, powered thru the hills, miles 22-25 where a shuffle then picked it up when I saw "one mile to go". Finish in 4:21.15, it was a great experience. I am walking quite slowly today but will probably do it again.

Wonderful job, Sharon! Congrats on your first marathon. It's so impressive to me, an on again, off again runner.

    Thanks All!

Most of the soreness is now gone, first post marathon run tomorrow, just an easy 30 minutes and starting to think about the next race :-)
