Shoe Fettish

I'm just being totally nosey here. I bought a pair of these

today since I'm tired of click clacking around in my road shoes.

Now I'm totally curious as to what everyone else is wearing....and why.

because they are quite comfortable on the pedals.

For short rides of less than 40 miles, I can get away with these: http://www.onlineshoes.com/womens-dr...oth-p_id135578 or these: http://www.onlineshoes.com/mens-aria...own-p_id184210 but my feet can end up pretty hot and sweaty.

I can sometimes get a bad case of metatarsal nerve pinch with the boots. The best shoes of all are the Birkenstocks, followed by the Keens, followed by the Chacos.

I've got a pair of Specialized Tahoes that I'll use when I pop my clipless pedals on one of my bikes, but I can't be bothered with the clipless much these days.

I have Sidi Dominators ... mtn. bike shoes on my road bike. Sometimes I think I'd like road shoes, but I like being able to walk around a bit and if I ever do any cyclocross racing I'd need mtn. shoes, anyhow. Kinda nice not to have different shoes and pedals for different bikes.

On the commuter, <10 flat low-traffic miles one way, I wear whatever I happen to have on - dress shoes, sandals, worn-out running shoes, Crocs. I don't know that I'd attempt it in the VFFs, though.

I wear Sidi road shoes on my road bike. I have no problem doing the short amount of walking needed, like into a store to get a sandwich or into a porta-potty. I use cleat covers even if I am off the bike for a minute.
I have spd pedals on my flat bar road bike. I have Sidi mountain bike shoes for that bike, as well as a pair of Keen cycling sandals, and the Gore X-Alps winter cycling boots. Frankly, riding in both the sandals and the boots feel weird and uncomfortable for different reasons. I wear the sandals when i am doing errands on warm days, wearing a skort, or going swimming at the pond. But, the back of the sandal hits my pannier.
I like my cycling shoes for riding, I guess. Most of it comes down to the fact that I don't like change!

I've never used cleat covers. My jersey pockets are full as it is.

I get about 3,000 miles out of a right Look cleat - the foot I unclip at stop signs - and about double that from the left.

I have more pairs of cycling shoes than any normal person should A pair of Sidi road shoes, a pair of nearly-identical Sidi mountain shoes, a pair of Sidi winter boots, and some "hike n bike" Pearl Izumi mountain shoes.

The Sidis just fit me well, so I keep buying them. The PIs are nice for commuting and errand running, when I want something less slick and "clacky".

Off bike, I'm addicted to El Naturalista clogs.

I wear some Bontrager Mountain Bike shoes. I like being able to walk comfortably in them.

I wear Northwave Velvet SBS road shoes for outdoor riding. I also have a pair of identical Northwaves, but in a MTB version for spin classes. I chose Northwave shoes because the toe box is wider, thus accommodating my hammertoes which need LOTS of wiggle room.

I wear Keen Commuter sandals exclusively. I sold or gave away all my other bike shoes, in a fit of minimalism.

I love my sandals! In the winter, I pair them with wool socks, but I only ride when it's 50F and above, so no problem there. In the summer, no socks.

Most of our rides are utilitarian, so it's great to have the sandals on for walking around in markets and such.
