Has anyone found an uninsulated or lightly-insulated windproof tight for cool, windy rides? I have a pair of Pearl Izumi Amfib tights that are fabulous for cold, windy rides, but they're positively too warm for me once it's above 35 or 40 degrees. I'd love to find something with the same windblocking properties, but that could be worn in the 35-50 degree range. I tried the Louis Garneau Norte tights that Performance sells, but they're about 3" too short on me...otherwise, they'd be perfect
Thanks in advance!
Are they just a midweight thermal tight, or do they actually block wind? I checked a couple of webpages, and it's not clear from the various product descriptions...
Are you positive you need a true windblocker? I definitely need some wind blocking on my torso - but on my legs, Lycra in the temps you're talking about, or wool or fleece in cooler weather, is plenty.

+1 on what Oakleaf said. I rode in some pretty strong winds at times this afternoon but my legs were perfectly fine.
I have the Midzero zap tights, and they're plenty. They're not windblocking, but I rode in them in 38* and windy weather, and my legs were the warmest things on me!
I think they'd be a bit much at temperatures approaching 50, though.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

Saving for the next one...
The stuff that is on the knees of my Ibex knickers stops wind.
Each day is a gift, that's why it is called the present.
I have the mid zero tights; I just got them in the fall. They were fine for temperatures in the low forties, with wind. Below that I wear my Ibex wool back, wind stopper something front ski tights for riding.

Ok, you're right...at 50, it's probably overkill. In the high 30s and low 40s, with the wind that we get around here, it would be nice.
The Midzeros don't look any different than my current midweight tights, and would be at least 2" too short anyway. Thanks for the idea though.
maybe the rei winter momentum tights?
These don't have the windblocking feature, but what about the Pearl Izumi Thermal tights? I have a pair of the Elite and the Select series. I live where it's windy all the time, and I find the PI tights to be just fine in temps between 35-50. On the colder days (30's), I tend to go with the thicker Elite's, but on milder days (40's) the Select's work fabulous.

I went to WalMart and found a pair of black tights...wear them under shorts or nickers...they work fine..but my tolerance is around 38°.
