I never bonded with my Cannondale so, no name.
My spankin' new Bianchi Infinito is Tootsie Bella Bella. My grandfather was Italian and called me Annie Bella Bella.
Now I have guilt about the Cannondale...Both female, I think because next to my DH's they look more elegant and feminine.
Cannondale looks like a long-suffering Hannah.

I've been calling my trek 520..."Bessie" after Henry Bessimer

-- he was an English engineer and inventor. Bessemer's name is chiefly known in connection with the Bessemer process for the manufacture of steel.

My Trek 7.6 is named Stella - mainly after the movie "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" - for my cycling is certainly doing that for me - but then I got the Stella light for her

Currently my steel steed is named Sully - but I find that I want to find another name for my LHT - but Sully will do for now. Perhaps when the conversion is complete another name will come to me when I bring it home in about a week and a half...

Lisa, she's a blue Kona Mountain Bike. And I totally talk to her, yesterday in the garage when I was walking by just to go to the freezer, it's "hey beautiful, geez you need a bath", on the trail it's all about the pep talks, "come'on Lisa, we can do it, it's a big rocky uneven hill but we can do it..." and if I crash it's "what the hell?? where were you on that one!"

my mountain bike is named fish. i described her features to some friends and asked them to name her and they named her fish. my new luna that should arrive tomorrow!!!! is named Pi because pi is a circle and a circle is a symbol for balance and balance is what i strive for in my life and what i feel when i ride a bike and because i think pi is a pretty name and it s mathematical and i am a nerd like that. i have a cat named coset and i didn't name my cat but i always spell it coset and i think of her as a mathematical cat

I named my Specialized Vita Comp "Bella".
"Vita" is Italian for "life" , therefore, "Bella Vita" means "Beautiful Life".

I named my Apollo Etienne hybrid Josie after the comedienne Josie Long. I don't find her funny at all but the bike is long and I struggle to get it up the 5 steps into my flat I do love her though

My Trek Pure Sport is named Stella as well. Tho mine is named after a beer.. Stella Artois.. there was an "incident" at pizza place here and a rather wacky waiter upon ordering a beer yelled out to the entire buzzing restaurant.. STEEELLLAAAA (Street Car Named Desire) and made me feel like crawling under the table. Now my friends all giggle when I dare order a beer- we laugh (I can laugh about it now) and mock screaming it again.

The Trek FX 7.3 is named Louisville as we drove from Cincinnati to Louisville to pick her up and give her a good new home.

    My red Felt F75 is:

'The Big Red Beast' (because it gets me into the right mindset for my training/racing when I get on a bike called 'the beast'.

'The Beast' (because same as above but sometimes I'm in a hurry)

'The BRB' (because...Big Red Beast/Big Red Bike, and later added the "Be Right Back' because I have a habit of saying 'Be right back' before a planned short ride and then coming back hours later because I was having too much fun.

How have I not posted in this thread, yet? My bike is Oberon (after my favorite beer), but we call her 'Oby', for short.

I'm already looking to upgrade to a speedier, higher-end Cannondale, the new SuperSix 4 Rival. DH was down at our LBS tonite picking up the roof rack for our tandem and mentioned to our shop guy that I had the new bike bug really bad and would likely be ordering another bike in then next few months. Our shop guy said we have to name the new bike "Oby 2 Kenobi." Can't argue with that.

I don't think I have posted my tri bike's name (scott plasma contessa). I did post pictures of her back in July before my Ironman. We went to the race, had a great day, and still no name.

I finally named her Pepper. Pepper is Ironman's assistant, and she was my assistant in my Ironman, thus the name. And she is pretty spunky too!

I don't usually name my bikes, but I have been calling my Specialized Tricross Siena. She's named after a province in the Tuscany region of Italy, and I plan to take her there for a ride when I finish my Ph.D.

Do you talk to your bike? (Or again, am I just crazy????)
My road bike is "Buffy" named for my favorite kick-*** female character, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I've been guilty of yelling at her when she flats or drops a chain. I've also apologized to her when I went 6 days without riding her.

My steelie commuter is "Red"...she's red. My mountain bike doesn't have a name--I guess I'm just not that attached to it.
    She's going the distance...
