At least your feet are short ... my motorcycling boots don't even fit in my locker at the gym any more.![]()

Sorry for hijacking but since you wrote about the Terra Plana Aqua, GLC: do you find the soles of the terra plana shoes have enough traction for going offroad? Winter is coming and I will have to run on snow too occasionally. The Terra Planas seem to be a nice shoe but the sole looks slippery to me.
I don't know as I haven't worn them off road that much really. I wore them for a couple of short trail runs, but those were hard packed and super dry dirt (end of summer), so traction was not an issue. I did run on wet grass a bit last week and while they weren't hiking boot grippy, I didn't slip, either. Now that I think about it, they had better traction than my VFF's on the same grass, though.
I would think they'd be good on wet surfaces, but I'm not sure about snow or ice (or mud). We don't have much of the frozen stuff here, so it never even occurred to me. Sorry!

I would like to throw in my suggestion of Nike Free Run+ shoes. I've been wearing them for about 3 months now...and I came off from wearing stability shoes my whole life. I had bouts of PF, heel spurs, toe numbness/pain...a myriad of foot issues, while I was wearing those heavily built-up stability trainers. When I decided to try something "minimal", I went with the Nike Free Run+ because it was one of the most comfortable shoes I had ever tried on. I started out very gradually in them. I wore them to work for a few weeks, then started wearing them to the gym. Gradually working my way up into running in them. I can now run 4-5 miles in them, with very little discomfort. Wearing my stability shoes, I could only get through about 2 miles of running, before my feet would be in extreme pain. I have finally found a shoe that allows me to run, relatively pain-free...and it only took me about 10 years of running in agony to find 'em!![]()
