I've had a few patients do it.
There are a few studies that say it is useless, there are a few that say it has a positive effect.
The idea is that you enrich the environment of the injury so it heals better. It should then follow the standard healing "schedule". 3-5 days of inflammation, 21 days of collagen deposition ending in full repair, 3-6 months of remodelling of the repair.
You should pretty much feel marvellous after about 3 weeks. But you must continue loading the tissue (your PT exercises) for 3-6 months so your body fine tunes the repair to the demands you place on it.
