Why I Love TE

I love most things about my Nathan hydration packs, but not the bite valves. Replacement bite valves are readily available for Camelbak and Platypus, but the Nathan hose is a larger diameter, and those won't fit.

So I looked at Nalgene, which has bite valves with a push fitting similar to Nathan's.

I measured the inside diameter of my drink tube and emailed Nalgene to ask whether their bite valves would fit.

The first response was that they they didn't understand my question ... I didn't think it was that complicated, but okay. So I rephrased. That was Monday. Now I've gotten another email from the tech support guy saying that he's emailed my question to the "hydration bladder product manager" and will let me know when he hears back.

Now, props to them for replying at all, and for checking into it.

But you know if it was TE, their stock would be in the same place as the person answering the mail, and they'd get up from their desk and actually measure the thing, and I'd have had an answer the same day...

Yup, not too many places whose customer service rocks like TE.
