    Really?!

This is the first time in a month that I've worked up the motivation to ride. So what happens? I pump up my tires, turn to go get my socks from my room...HISSSSSS

No visible puncture holes. Just a tiny nick in the rubber by the valve stem. This is the second time this has happened like this. Either Giant's tubes are crap (both were Giant branded) or I have a wheel with a rough spot around the hole for the valve. I'll see how this new tube (different brand) holds up.

...Once I get it on the bike, that is. I haven't had to change a flat in a year of riding. BF changed the first couple for me. I've been wrestling with it for an hour and I still cannot get the tube (or tire) to cooperate.
(Good job I wasn't out on the road!)

Of course, once I actually get this thing on, it will be too hot to ride (we're expecting temps in the 90s), and it's supposed to rain Sunday. Hopefully Monday decides to cooperate before I go meet BF at the airport...or I'll have to bring him back and ask him to put the tube and tire back on!
At least I don't leave slime trails.

Well, tube and tire are now properly mounted. BF reminded me that it's often easier to put the tube inside the tire first. Of course, I can't get the little nut of the presta valve loosened enough to inflate the tire. I've pulled the valve part out of the stem, but haven't managed to accomplish anything else.
