    This is what I have been wondering. I don't know if that pad would cover my sit bones right, though...or if the shorts would fit me everywhere else. This is the short I'd look at, but it's already 2" longer than what I like and doesn't have the non-elastic waist panel.

    Just to satisfy my curiosity I tried on a pair of my hubby's bib shorts. The chamois actually was a pretty good fit, I think--it was definitely not all bulky up-front and covered my sit bones perfectly. But those 9" inseams would definitely be a no-go. They literally came down to my knees. Ick.
