    Interesting Ride Today

I just got back from a 26 mile spin down the local trail on my mountain bike.... we have a winter storm warning right now so I thought it would be fun to go out in the snow. It WAS!!! OMG I had so much fun just riding along looking at the trees and squirrels.

I have to admit the funniest part was the guy in the pickup that stopped dead in the road when he saw me on the trail riding in the snow. He puts his truck in reverse and backs along side me on the road that runs parallel to the trail, rolls down his window and asks if I need a ride. That was the highlight of my day!!! Of course I say no thanks and that I was riding for pleasure.

It was snowing like crazy by the time I headed back so snow is all stuck in the holes of my helmet and my bike was caked in white so the few runners I saw would immediately start grinning as I rode past. Too funny.

    Great ride!

I know that only my TE friends will truly appreciate the humor in this. I can tell some of my other friends and they will look at me like I need my head checked.

Winding, I totally understand! Last Friday a friend and I went out for a nice long road ride in 17 degree weather. The looks we got!

I've been getting ready for the storm myself, loading hay in the barn, getting horse feed, buying groceries and riding my bike! With 2 feet predicted here it might be a week before I can get out on the road! I got in a 40 mile ride yesterday and a 30 mile ride today. I dropped my car off for inspection this morning and asked the guy how long it was going to take? (He's looking at my cycling outfit a little funnily.) He says about an hour. Well, take TWO!, I said. :-)

Let it snow! My happy legs and I have plenty to do inside. :-)

That's a great story. I love that someone offered you a ride.

As far as the runners, I enjoy the camaraderie that exists between the few folks who run or bike in cold, rain or snow. Even if it's just a smile or a "hi, how are you" it's fun.

Did you get a photo of the snow-caked helmet?
