It made me want to be there.
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks

I have patients who are police officers. One of them dealt with Monfort. Then the Lakewood situation, which hit them all so hard. Flying back to Seattle on Monday the plane was utterly full of California officers on their way to the memorial. It was hard not to cry on the plane.
I feel so protective of these men and women. I've seen them hurting (well, mostly they were hurting because I was making them hurt, but that's beside the point) and watched their faces as they've talked about their work.
Step three for me might be telling them how grateful I am for the work they do, if I can manage to do it without crying.

Yeah. You can also email SPD through their website. This is what I did after Tim Brenton was murdered by Monfort, with the request that it go out to everyone, or all precincts, or whatever they can manage.
I couldn't agree with you more, on all of it. I think many people feel that way.
