    Cycle Shorts fit

New to riding. Not all the time but sometimes I guess my shorts rub me in the crease of my leg. I do not have a boil or anything it is just sore and a bit red. It does not happen all the time. I read here to take my shorts and place over the saddle. Now the ones I wore the other day when i noticed the soreness, the front part fits on top of the nose of the saddle. The padding is hour glass shaped. I am comfortable riding in my butt area and only once in a while do i need to shift due to a feeling in the crease area. So should the padding come down further on the saddle, should it only be on the girly parts, should it extend out more and down the theigh.

    Any help is appreciated

The chamois on all my various bike shorts provide a lot of coverage. More maxi-pad w wings than mini-pad, shall we say?

I had a similar problem w rubbing at the leg--but only when I ride consecutive days. I don't have that problem if I don't wear shorts w the same style/design chamois two days in a row.

Do you use some kind of chamois cream? I generally need it only on the girly bits but know that body creases can be prone to such problems.

Could be your saddle also... I used to get that soreness in the leg crease until I went to a saddle with a narrower nose. And when you are on the saddle are you sitting up on your sit bones? If you are laid out a little too much you could be inviting some soft tissue soreness. Chamois cream could also help.

Sorry, but soreness could be a few things - I have several different types of chamois and none of them bother me as long as I have a narrow nose on my saddle and don't put my weight on my soft tissue.

Tx - I did notice in some of my other shorts/capri/pants the chamoisis hourglass shaped but there are wings on the side and the pair that I wore did not have wings. That could be the difference.

I have been using the saddle for close to a year so I was pretty sure it was not the saddle.
