I like their online ride journal, however I usually have to try 2-3 times to log on before I can access the site. Is the site just really busy?? Anyone else having this problem? I'm thinking of switching to Excel instead--no internet connection needed.

Hi....I've been logging all of my rides on bikejournal for the past two years. Once in a while things seem slow, but generally the posting process is pretty easy and fast. About six or eight months ago the site got attacked and they struggled for at least a couple of weeks to fully reinstate everything, but I didn't lose any data. Quite a few TE'ers use that site, so maybe others have been experiencing the same problems you have.

If you continue to have trouble, you might contact the webmaster of the site to see if he or she has an answer or can otherwise lend you a hand?

I used to use bikejournal.com, then because of problems with the site I switched to bikewire.net which seems to be much more reliable.

Although recently I gave up on logging any data, just made it seem more of a chore than anything else.

I just logged a ride this afternoon, and had no particular trouble.

I mostly read the forum things because sometimes there will be rides in my area that I'll want to do. I've met some neat people through the BJ and occasionally I ride with them. I've found it to be a nice compliment to this forum as it is monitored quite closely.

Not had any particulur difficulties lately, but I've not been keeping my ride stats on the site either. Yes, I know it can be slow, but there are a lot of folks that use it.

I wonder if it isn't an issue with your browser. BikeJ doesn't seem to use a lot of scripts and junk, and only sets one cookie, so I wouldn't really expect a browser issue, but I haven't experienced the kind of problems you have. Just logged tonight's ride, no problem. (Other than I've been missing a lot of rides lately and I'm slipping , but no problems with the site.)
