    I must be sick....

So I'm feeling a little under the weather today. It's supposed to be in the high 40's today and for the rest of the week which is good for us this time of year. I head outside to go to lunch and get a whiff of fresh air. It's like a switch goes on in my head chanting "go get your bike", "go get your bike".

Now granted, I just started commuting last week (I head home for lunch to let the dogs out, so I commute back from lunch and home), but apparently I now have the commuting disease. Is there a name for this???? Plus, when I got home, my new short sleeve Zoic sports wool jersey with camo mtb shorts with the removable liner were there. No question now ladies! I mowed through a bowl of soup and got the bike ready (he really needs a name - hunter green hybrid diamondback - any suggestions?). I even put on my arm warmers (please forgive me, but a mere 9 months ago I saw a biker with these on and thought they looked dorky. Why do they look so cool now?! I've come a long way BABY!!).

So I'm feeling better sitting at my desk with a smile on my face looking forward to picking up the little guy on the way home. All the kids at dc thinks its cool when his mamma comes in with her biking gear. I even bought him a round hunting seat warmer for the trailer so his tushie doesn't get cold.

Anyway, thought I would share this with you wonderful people. You guys are so supportive and such an inspiration. I think back to my childhood when I HAD to commute to school and how much I hated it back then. Now it's just total freedom for me.

Tomorrow my new bike light gets here - just in time for daylight savings......
    Dar

Ahhhh, bikeaholism. Hi, my name is Dar and I'm a bikaholic.

Now, the really important thang. My ride needs a name. I was thinking that since he's a hybrid - a rode bike wanna be thing - maybe he's really a Fred. Of course, that might make me a Wilma, but I can handle that. What do you all call your rides? I tend to call my mtb Blu. Cuz' he's blue. Not very original but my back up name is CB (for crash and burn).

    and yes - it's a sick world and I"m a happy gal!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

There is NOTHING sweeter than your morning commute with a tailwind, no matter what the temperature (42 here this am - how cold up by you Darby?). Everyone at work rolls their eyes and says "Are you STILL riding in!?!?!).

I think this compulsion to commute must have some religious overtones....or at least obsessive/compulsive overtones!
