I've heard good things, so want to give them a try. Let me know if you've got the hook-up. Thanks

Sorry, these would be for my road bike, so road specific, even though I know both will work. Thanks.

Hmm....thinking that mountain bike pedals might be a better choice for when I need to get off and walk. What do people prefer, road or mountain?

Have you considered bebop pedals? Bebop pedals are close to the speedplays and can go on both a road or mtb.

I haven't, thanks. I guess I'm looking for something that I can use on the road, but that will also allow me to walk some if I need to. I've had some knee/lower leg pain and I've heard great things about Speedplays being the most knee friendly. That's why I'm looking to try a pair to see if they will work for me.

I'd say try a set of speedplay frogs. They're technically mtb pedals, although I'm not sure I'd trust them if I did any serious mountain biking (they detach too easily). But luckily I mostly ride road and do baby mountain biking. They mostly recess into the shoe and are easy to walk with.

I would avoid road pedals if you want the ability to walk some.

I have one knee that has tracking issues, and I don't have any problem using frogs.
