    Specialized Sequoia Elite?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I tried this bike today and really liked it... but I only rode for a few minutes.

If anyone has one of these, could you let me know how it feels after the test ride? (Or point me at a previous thread if you've already reviewed it.)

I know I'm being swayed a bit at the moment because of the bikes I tried today, this one fit me the best.

Here's a good place to start.

All the posts most not be about exactly that bike, but you might be able to get some good info.

I did actually search before I posted.

I didn't see too much of an in-depth review, just a couple of positive comments, and one not so positive, but thought I might've missed something.

Thanks for checking for me, tho'.

We are pretty much a Specialized family, me the Dolce, husband Allez, daughter the Sirrus and son Allez. We all could not be happier. I know a few people with the Sequoia and they are also very happy with their bikes. For a road bike you should have a very comfortable ride the the upgrades that the Elite has gives for a nice smooth ride.

Maybe giving it another try would be a good idea. My LBS is not set up for his customers to take any longer ride than down the block a bit and around the parking lot his and next door. We all got a fairly good feel with the little test ride and was able to tell which fit most comfortable.

That is the best input that I could give you, but thought it was worth posting anyway.

I have a Sequoia Elite and I like it, although I have upgraded/replaced most of the components, and in the long run I would ahve probably been better off just starting out with a different bike - but I had no idea I would be bitten by the cycling bug so bad! But it is a good fit for me, and except for the new wheels and brakes, the parts I have replaced have been due to needing more gears for creeping up hills (the original 105 brakes never felt that great to me, and the wheels had too much flex...)

But if it feels good to you, you should get it - it seems like from what everyoene says, the most important thing is how it feels to you - I never even test-rode my bike!

    Thanks for the input, everyone!

I decided to take the plunge, after trying a couple more bikes. I kept remembering how great the Sequoia elite felt, and nothing else seemed nearly as good a fit.

    I had test-ridden the '05, but I ordered the '06 - now I am all a-fire to hear that it's arrived!

Well congratulations (a little early). I am sure you will love your bike when you get it. I know this goes without saying, but be sure to post when you pick it up and take it on its first ride.

    Sequoia Elite

I have had my Sequoia Elite about 3 years. I am very happy with it. I am 5'4" tall. I did change the seat as the original one was not comfortable for me, I think it is a "girl thing" but other than that it's great.

My husband bought a 2009 model this year and he is also very happy with it. The seat is fine for him.

Good luck in finding just the right one.

I had a 2006 but had to sell it to make room for another bike. I loved my Sequoia and I miss her.
