This was a really great race for me!! Placed 13th overall women, 17th overall men & women in the swim (top 5 in age-group), 9th overall women in the bike and managed to run a sub 9min/mi for the run.

More details posted on my blog's race report. Didn't want to double post.

"People were planning to walk portions of the swim."

That has got to be the BEST line in a race report ever!

    Congrats on a great race!

    Thanks! I'm still jazzed.

Recovery has been pleasant. Staying off my feet for the week just to give whatever it is that is making my second toe feel weird some time to heal. Nurse friend doesn't think it is broken & it has been less painful/much easier to walk on since Sunday. That's good news!

I must admit though, only being able to swim & bike this week has me tri-minded. I know once I am able to pick up the 50k training again I will be all over that, but I have been trying to avoid the lists of tris I could sign up for & stick with my original plan.

What a great report. What is HEED, as in "The HEED was yummy"?

I hope your toe heals quickly. And good luck with the upcoming races.

Urlea, you write the BEST race reports. Sounds like you are just cooking along! Congratulations.

I also love the "people planning to walk parts of the swim" thing. That's a hoot.

Yes, you are from North Dakota, but I still am amazed how you can do a sprint tri, marathons, whatever in the cold and rain! amazing. I have a low threshold for heat and cold, kind of a fairweather athlete.
