    Stupid Pet Tricks

Just had to share this goofy dog story with you. Yesterday our neighbors brought their kids over to play in our pool and as we were sitting on the patio watching the kids and enjoying a beverage, my door bell started ringing frantically. I went to the door to find the neighbor girl quite upset and trying to explain what was wrong. She said the neighbor dog (owners are ones at our house) was "up". I said what do you mean "up". She said, "he is stuck on the roof". Seriously....I started laughing, not because I didn't believe her or wasn't worried, but the picture in my mind was just too much. As my neighbor headed out the door, DH and I had to follow because I couldn't miss this scene. Sure enough, the dog had jumped out the upstairs window and sat pitifully on the roof waiting for rescue. Crazy dog. He is one of those "I will never grow past puppy-hood mentality dogs, very lovable, but not the sharpest tool in the shed as they say. Wish I could have snapped a picture.

Poor doggie wanted to hang out where all the fun was - perhaps he could see everyone from the roof and thought it must have been possible to get to them from out on the roof. Makes sense to try it at least once to me! Tokie

He suffers from separation anxiety. They have to take him everywhere with them or he will destroy the house and eat underwear all day (seriously). He goes to work with them too He really is a good dog, he just has some hang-ups.

    *chuckles*

Cody did that once right after we moved into our house. DH had gone out the bedroom window to fix some rain gutters. All of sudden, he hears "scccccccccrrrrrrrrrritch" as the dog's nails slide along the shingles of the porch roof. He turns around, and there's Cody, hanging on for dear life!

I still have no idea what posessed him to follow DH out a window!
