Want to trade or buy deda 4 girls 38cm.

If anyone has the them lying around i would like a set of the Deda 4 girls handlebar 38cm in width. I currently have the 36 cm size but they are a spot too narrow for me. I also have the Salsa poco bars in 40 cm. I like the bars but the ergo grips are not for me and a size smaller would be nice.

    thanks,
    a very petite biker

I thought I was the only one that thought those ergo bumps on the Salsas were completely awful! Glad I'm not alone.

Sorry I can't help directly with your bar hunt, but if you need to expand your search you might want to look at the Specialized Ruby SL bar, or the much cheaper (but I assume same dimensions) Women's Pro Road Ergo.

Fit me like a glove (I think the 38's fit somewhere just shy of a true 38, but still bigger than a 36, plus I can really get my hands in the drops and have an amazingly short reach to the brakes).

    Signed,
    An equally petite biker

thanks for the heads up. I thought that they only did the oversize bars.

I think this one might fit the bill. There is a specialized dealer nearby so they might have it (although they are more of a higher end for men store)

I would love the salsa poco handlebars that are 40cm, but I hate the black bead-blast finish. What ever happened to beautiful chrome? I have the 42cm size Salsa Moto Ace Bell-Lap handlebars that came with my 50cm cross check surly, but I'm wondering if the smaller size and the poco would be better.

Oh, and haven't known anything else other than the ergo bars on my handlebar. I suppose I don't know what I'd like more. I'd assume I'd miss them.

If anyone knows of a way to take of that finish, please let me know.

I don't have the 38s you're looking for, but I'd be happy to buy the 36s if you're selling them--depending on when you're willing to part with them.

Madscot13 I think I would be interested in the 40cm salsa poco handlebars you got. I think I've devised a way to take off the black bead blast finish. My honey elkhide handlebar covers would look splendid on it I think with my honey B.68 saddle! Shall we continue this via email? jewellertman@gmail.com

Hmmm; now I'm confused. According to Deda's website, the 4girls bars only come in 38 cm? How are you measuring the Deda bars that you currently have? They measure them outside to outside. You might double check them.

    sorry I haven't been around.

    1. I am getting Specialized road bars. let me give it a 100 miles ie one week, and I will get back to you jewell

    2. I would love to get rid of the 36's (center to center, just to clear things up). I am moving soon and carrying 3 sets of bars around just seems ridiculous when I only have one bike.

    Thumbs up

One of the reasons I read this thread was because of the 5 star rating. Which, once done posting, I will be doing so myself (giving 5stars).

This is great info on a couple other bar options I didn't know about. Been racking my brain myself. I'm a 38cm girl as well. So, no sale for me... but interested on how the new bars work out.

    Thx!

My specialized bars are my favorites. Which ones are you getting, Madscott?

    specialized women's road handlebar
    http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/...jsp?spid=41918

    they come in 38/40/42cm center-to-center

I hope the specialized bars work out right (I hope my trek doesn't reject them as a foreign invader!) It also comes in an ergo form and one with zertz for a bit more squids.

and yes I wish I could find silver handlebars too! but I'm not brave enough to sandblast them or anything.

ps I thought I had given my own post five stars by accident. I'm happy to know where it came from.

I've done a ton of research in the past few days about what bars are available in 38 cm or smaller. Part of the problem I've noticed is that while various manufacturers make smaller sizes, they aren't necessarily easy to find--at least with online retailers.

In any event, I may soon have a set of my own to sell. FSA Compact Wing Pros in size 38 to be exact. I'll post a separate thread when I get it all sorted out.

just a heads up: after about 170 miles on the specialized bars I give them a thumbs. I still wouldn't call it perfect but maybe I can dial the fit some more.
i went with 40 after getting measured at the LBS. He said I was between a 38 and a 40 with my wrist bones showing me as closer to 38. Well I've never thought about my wrist bones as indicative for my handlebar size. But he said that if I was using 40 and didn't have problems then I should just stick with it. besides I didn't want to give up the room on the flats of the bars.

is it weird that I have to change my seat position with my bars? I actually want to change my seat altogether.
