Wow, that's really arty. Isn't sewing lycra really difficult?
It's a little secret you didn't know about us women. We're all closet Visigoths.

    You're so talented!!

Alpinerabbit, sewing lycra is easy, if you have a serger (type of machine that makes those cool finished seams) and stretchy thread. I used to sew my own sports bras and leggings and stuff a long time ago.

Mary, did you use a commercial pattern for that jersey?

Sewing with lycra isn't the WORST thing I've sewn with. It can be slippery, but you just take your time and use plenty of pins. I was sewing on a standard sewing machine. What made that more difficult was the fact that I was sewing doubled layers of fabric. The lycra that I'd purchased was much thinner weight than I originally thought and modesty had me lining the shorts and jersey so that you couldn't see through them. The print sections actually look better with the blue cotton jersey behind it as it brings the color out.
Yes that was a commercial pattern by Jalie #2216. http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-...patternid=2375 It doesn't have a chamois though so the shorts are simple 4 panel shorts with no padding.

yes it was, I've already got people wanting them and most hadn't even seen them yet. Is the offer for the chamois pattern still good??
I found some AWESOME fabric that I'm going to make my next set with. I can hardly wait.

Pretty spiffy, Mary! I hate sewing lycra and refuse to do it.

    Smile Nice work!

I can sew, but it's so much easier to do my mother's housework while she sews for me.
Drink coffee and do stupid things faster with more energy.
