LG Power Shorts

My LBS is selling the 2008 LG Power Short for 50% off. I like how they fit but have no experience with the Chamois. Its the ERGOzone? I noticed that for 2009 its totally changed. Looks more padded etc. Anyone use these shorts?

Is it the chamois with lots of holes all through it? The men's one is red/grey and the women's blue/grey? And it has the foam thickness printed on it?

If it is, its a great chamois to ride if you like a firm chamois and it really does allow heaps of air flow (when you take your butt of the seat).

However durability wise I have been very disappointed, the fabric by the holes has started to peel back and the stiching holding the chamois to the short came unpicked (even though it was double stitched). This happened after one year of once a week or so use (I wash in a washing machine and I always but my bras and things with velcro in laundry bags) to both mine and my husbands pairs.

DH also has the Gel chamois (all blue, no holes) and he likes that better but I have noticed the fabric has napped so its fuzzy but he's OK with that.

I wonder if this is why they changed the chamois since then?
