    extra ideas

Hey guys, I had a thought for those of us who might not win the contest (and those of us coveting too many designs!). Zazzle and Spreadshirt allow you to upload your designs and add them to a shirt that's printed only when someone orders one. They even have athleticwear, so you could make your own almost-jersey. I was thinking this would be a great fundraiser for those of us doing charity rides. TE logos would probably have to be removed, but the design ideas would go to good use! Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Yeah, I especially cringe at the one with some ditzy girl perched sidesaddle on a bike while blowing bubbles. Is that how 'girls' ride? What does it mean other than perhaps women only play at riding bicycles. Seems like a 'pre-teen mall rat' type of mindset to me.

I like many of the ideas coming up from TE members.

Me too! I would most definitely wear that! It's feminine, without being uber-girly.

Eden, I like the concept in your new design!

The only thing I would worry about is having the design in back continue from the body over the pockets. The design on the pockets might not match up perfectly with the design on the body once it's all sewn up.

And yet the various incarnations of the Little Red Riding Hood jerseys have sold like hot cakes.

Then there is Velo Bella jersey.

Those two and my AV jersey have a 100% hit rate for lots and lots of compliments on organized rides. None of my other jerseys get this kind of attention - and I have an embarassingly large collection.

    ME TOO!!!!

I will also admit to the fact that my favorite jersey is my AV jersey. I have it in sleeveless and would get a ss if it is ever offered again. I also get the most compliments on it.

Well at least those two show the women actually riding astride the bikes!
Though not sure why that one gal's platform shoes are stuck up in the air- hard to pedal that way for sure. Maybe it's to balance and compensate for the squirrely steering she gets on her bike's rather bizarre frame geometry. Look at that fork angle! She might benefit from WSD.
And one has successfully subdued the big bad wolf.
I actually like the ones you are pointing out- especially that Italian looking beatnik chick with the hep cat in her basket. Reminds me a bit of Mimi's Italian biking photos of old ladies on their ancient cruisers, doing their shopping.
Better than vogueing/draping over a bike and just blowing bubbles....

Ditto. I too thought that considering the bike's role in women's liberation would indeed be a nice image to draft.

Then you're going to love/hate this year's LRRH jersey. Maybe there should be a rule limiting artistic merit? At least the wolf done seen better days.

Well I must confess I don't actually wear jerseys except for a couple of pretty plain screaming yellow ones that I wear often to be visible in traffic. I almost always have at least one item in screaming yellow on when I ride...like a top, a windbreaker, a vest, tank, tights or capris. I don't do any club riding or competitive riding, I just ride from home in our area for exercise, fun, and to do errands/shopping. I work from home so commuting isn't part of the equation. When I ride I just feel good in every way.
