Off work in 4 hours.... then I get to rush home to wake up the household and open gifts! I think a friend was going to drop off cinnamon rolls to bake in the morning (feeling sorry for us cuz I'm working I think!).

I made home-made dog biscuits all day on Wednesday to give to the neighbors and friends. Can't wait to go distributing! I made Cheese ones, Peanut Butter and Oatmeal, and Sweet Potato and 7 grain cereal biscuits. All were made with whole wheat and eggs and olive oil. It was kind of fun. And my dog was SO happy to get to be the guinea pig and taste them all! She approves!

    Merry Christmas all!

Well we haven't visited my parents who always go over board but DH did pretty good:
    • A day trip to the Fort Worth Zoo last Friday- I love the zoo and this was a pretty good one!
    • LED head lamp so I don't have to carry a flash light when I need to find the potty at a dark campsite.
    • Two CD's- Weezer's Red Album and the new Kings of Leon if you care

    He got:
    • Tifosi Phototec Sunglasses (dolomite style)
    • Spokelits for his commuter bike
    • A bell for his mountain bike

His parents got us REI gift cards, new sheets (which we can actually use but need to exchange the color), pocket knives and a Carem board game.

I got these from my honey

also a new hand mixer and clear lenses for my Thump Pro sunglasses.

My in-laws gave me Yoga for Triathletes ver. 3.0.

We bought a refrigerator for the car. Eventually it will go into the van - when we get it.

I got Thom a video game he wanted, a book on designing camper vans and new bike shoes.

Curly Cat visited again this morning and is his usual friendly self.

Cassie Cat and Tucker Cat had much fun playing with the wrappings. Tucker has decided that he should fit in a very small box. NOT!!!!!

I called my mom and she actually sounded happy for a change. At Thanksgiving I took her to the water aerobics class for old people that her doctor really wanted her to go to. She did NOT want to go. She's been twice more, it's a once a week class, and she loves it! She had a doctor appointment yesterday and she's lost a couple pounds and her blood pressure is better. When I went with her to her appointment at Thanksgiving the doctor told her she was borderline diabetic. So I'm hopeful that she is getting serious about taking better care of herself now.

PS My homemade cinnamon rolls are very yummy!

    LOL

The dangly part is only about1/2 inch long. They were suppose to be my birthday present, but Thom got an e mail from the artist saying that the first casting wasn't very good and they would not arrive on time. They are really pretty in person.

A sinus headache from the lovely boquet of flowers I bought myself. Note to self: lilies and peonies must only be admired from afar, and NEVER NEVER inside, ever again.

Some nifty-cool art-glass plant self watering globes - so my house plants have decoration, and they're pretty too.

Was hoping for bike goodies from my brother who's a cyclist, but nope - got two Christmas ornaments instead from Mount Vernon. I wonder if someone else in the family is wondering why they got something cycling related, since I'm wondering why I got two very similar things.

Apparently my other presents will be New Year's presents. I live a long way away from most of my family and know that some hasn't been shipped yet. So I get to look forward to more goodies on my porch in the future.

DH and I made a deal to not spend much this year on gifts to each other, and to give things that can be consumed or are practical.

I got some wonderful pillar candles, some heavy winter gloves (I suspect, since they have not actually arrived yet in the mail), and a box of my favorite hand dipped chocolate covered cherries from the local chocolate shop in town.

Neither of us really need any new bike stuff.

I got new levers for my motorcycle.

We are keeping it pretty low key this year as we are buying ourselves a house. Now that is a nice present.

I'm quite excited. I finally have my own PERSONAL digital camera! We always are arguing about who gets to have the camera, so now I have my own... and it's BETTER than the old one!

so now I can tuck it into my bike shirt and shoot photos while I'm out! Yippee!

The rest of Christmas will happen on January 3rd when the rest of the family comes back from Arizona. THEY ARE WARM TODAY! Not fair!

Cycling related - I got 2 blinky lights for my bike, one of which can mount on the bike of my helmet from my older brother, my little brother got me a bike computer.

My bf got me a kite buggy, since he's been teaching me to kite surf and it's a few hours drive to any piece of water big enough.

My older brother got me a beautiful big tripod, so it's time for me to get into macro or night photography to do that justice.

Sister got me a toaster oven.

And I got new leathers for my motorcycle...

We don't generally do gifts other than for the kid. The leathers were, I think, part of a larger bribe/plan.... Someone wants a new motorcycle.

I feel very Scroogy this morning. I talked to my friends-family about cutting back this year, buying only small gifts or giving money to charity instead.

Apparently, my F/F concluded that I was destitute and feeling sorry for me, bought me mountains of stuff!!! (I won't list them, but let's just say it was worth the GNP of a small country)

I felt kinda bad sitting amidst a landfill of gifts, while the recipients of mine just got cards with a note saying, "Merry Christmas! A donation has been made in your name to..."

I hooked up my washer and dryer all by myself, and now I have CLEAN LAUNDRY!

My BF and I exchanged gifts and had such a nice time. I also received a great garden planner notebook, Cesar Millan CD on dog training, and a topo map jigsaw puzzle of the area where I live. Great geography lesson.

I also got, from my dog, Every Woman's Guide to Cycling by Selene Yaeger. Very good 8-week century training schedule which I will start in January to prepare for my trip to Arizona in March with the Bike Friday (ooh!)
