Mr. S. Was this an organized ride or just organized by you guys for the 3 riders? How long did it take them to do the ride?

I think 141 definitely qualifies as "epic."

Lisa, yes, I was the photographer...but using one of the other rider's cameras, so I didn't do as well as I'd like.

I've stopped wearing red and only favor Hi-Vis Green and Yellow. Another thing we learned is that the new LED lights are nearly worthless unless they aimed straight back...they lose intensity to the driver if they are at an angle.

7, they left at sunrise - 7AM Central and arrived 10.5 hours later - including a few stops (for some reason, they passed on the Possum Junction stop???). Their moving time averaged 17.5mph.

The guy in red just did his first IronMan and finished well. They guy in green just did his first century a couple weeks ago. They're both in their mid 40's like us.

I was trying to figure out which rider was Mr. Silver! I guess someone has to take the pictures. It is like every family picture album at my house. It looks like my husband is a single parent because I'm sure not in any of them.

I believe this qualifis as epic. For one thing, they look cold and that is not fun for me.

I have a purple jacket, but I need to get one that is high viz I reckon.

    Hey!!!!

I haven't been here in a bit! Thanks for all the well wishes for our ride!

It was so much fun. Thank you to Mr. for all his help!

And I had 144 miles on my bike! I'm counting every one!

It's been a big year of changes for me. I went back to work full time in August. I'm working the front desk for a chiropractor. But we get two hour lunches so lots of time for a ride or run. I've struggled still to get my workouts in. My miles are down from last year, but so many more of them are with Mr. so that's nice.

Another milestone for me.....I turned over 10,000 on my Lovely Trek Madone about two weeks ago, just shy of two years from my wreck and "earning" the Madone. (I have more miles than that in the two years because I still have miles on my old Trek 1000)

Sorry I haven't been around much, I'm working on time management. I miss you all!

I have been away a while also.

Great ride Silver and best of luck in your new job. I completely understand your adjustment to going to work full time. Everyday I have to think of what to juggle around get in some cycling time. However, that is some nice lunch hour.

Wonderful pics Mr. Silver. Thank you for posting them.

I've been thinking about you, Silver!! The other day I was wondering if you had achieved your 2008 goal of getting faster (if I recall right, you were focused on your speed, not mileage, this year). Congrats on the job---I bet you meet a lot of interesting people. I hope you're still doing your jewelry. Speaking of which, do you do any work in gold?

Jo, it's good to see you back, too. Is your shoulder back to 100%? I hope you didn't get any of that NY snow. S-N-O-W---the worst four-letter word of all in my opinion!!

Back to work (prison) for me tomorrow, after 8 weekdays "time off for good behavior." Luckily, I have several more weeks of "use or lose" leave to burn off before 3 Jan, so there's reason to be happy despite the colder and darker days.

Thank you Velo...it is good to be back. My shoulder has been fine. Thank you for remembering. It was my husband that had a medical problem, but he is on the road to recovery. It was a rough summer.

8 days is a nice amount of days to be off from work. Time off is a wonderful thing. I am already looking forward to my vacation days next year

    Hiyo!

Yes, I do meet lots of people in my new job. It's very interesting. I'm enjoying it more than I expected.

Sorry, I don't work in gold. I'm not trained in it and it's a little too expensive to teach myself the trial and error method

I'm not doing much jewelry work at all these days. It's gotten squeezed out with the work, teaching spin classes and exercise. But I do still want to do it.

Goals.....I can't say that I've met my original goals this year. But I'm very pleased with what I have accomplished....

I became an LCI. I'm teaching 2 to 3 spin classes each week. I was a triathlon bike training instructor this summer. I took a seat on the executive committee of the local triathlon. I've ridden some longer rides; RAIN 160 miles, New Harmonie to Louisville 144 miles along with 10 other century rides. I've ridden a few rides with the guys and kept up. So, even though I still haven't logged a ride at 20+ mph (my goal) I'm still happy.

I have been frustrated at the limitations on my riding time since the new job started. I'm still working on that. I think that I am around 5,000 outdoor miles so far. I still am not commuting to work....I haven't found a good logistical way to do that....

Velo....You commute, don't you? And I think that you ride in any kind of weather? right?

    Hi Jo! How you doin?
