I have an awesome pair of Patagonia mittens that I like to wear when biking - haven't really tried them on the road bike - I am a little wary of getting the fabric in between the shifter and the brake lever on the 105's.

Does anyone ride their bike wearing mittens instead of lobster or "regular" cold weather gloves? I use the former but still battle cold hands on longer rides in temps below freezing. I'm contemplating switching to mittens but am concerned about the trade off in dexterity.
If you wear mittens, what is your favorite "poison?" (material, brand/model, etc?)
Thanks!

My bike is my Benz.
I've ridden my road bike in mittens and mitten shells - the ones I wear winter hiking. It's a little awkward in that I can't split my fingers around the brake levers when riding on the hoods, but it's OK. I've since bought lobster mitts and like them better.
Oil is good, grease is better.
