I am not 100% sure I want to sell this bike, but thought I might put out feelers. Sorry, I don't have pix but can get them for anyone interested.
This is a 2004 Bianchi 44 cm Alfana with 700 cm wheels, silver in color. Note that the Alfana came with flat bars, but I had it completely rebuilt with Kestral carbon bars, 40 cm. It also has a Specialized carbon Pave seatpost, and was built up with combination 105 and Campy Centuar groupsets, 9 speed. Crank arms are 165 cm. It has a triple and wide gearing on the rear cassette, but I am not sure of the exact ratios. I had the bike built up by a very experienced builder (Steve Lubanski of Open Road Cycles in Pasadena, CA.) so the combination of 105 and Campy works well together.
The frame is aluminum with carbon forks. Saddle is Fisik CP and I will include Keo pedals. It has a Vetta wireless computer (no cadence) The bike is very light and stiff (aluminum). It is well balanced (I can ride it easily with no hands.) The bike has been riden in the Rosarita to Ensenada and Tour de Palm Springs rides, and has a scratch on the left rear chainstay. A good bike for short riders (I am 5'2'' with 29'' inseam). I can have it packed and shipped by LBS. Replacement cost probably in the range of $2,000. I'm thinking of selling in the $800. range, plus packing and shipping.
If anyone is interested, you can PM me and I will get photos for you. I would rather have a TE member have the bike than open it up to ebay.
Thanks,

I know!! Shipping from here out of the country is so expensive. I recently sold a guitar on ebay and I had inquiries from Australia, Singapore and Austria. The shipping was in the range of $450.00 to $700.00 by UPS. I ended up selling it to a lady in Austria and I split the cost with her, as I felt bad about how expensive the shipping was, plus she had to pay import tax. There may be a less expensive way to ship, but I didn't look into that.
Hi!
I was actually just searching google for ANY 44cm road bike because they seem extremely difficult to find. So just so you know, yes, there are those of us out there who would be very very interested. I'm looking for my first road bike and affordable small road bikes that aren't custom or are used are extremely difficult to find.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'm ready to buy right now, otherwise I'd make a more serious inquiry but if it's still available in 2 months....

Hi Stephanie, I was just kind of putting out feelers out there. I am certainly in no hurry to sell the bike. It will probably still be around in a couple of months. I will try to post pix. Right now the bike is kind of in storage with the wheels off, etc. It has a virtual top tube length of 514 mm which is not a short as some small frame bikes, but it worked well for me. You can always PM me.
Thanks
Finally got pix of the bike. Hope they come out OKay. Note, bike shown with old style Look pedals, but will include set of used Keo carbons. Will also include frame pump shown in pix.
Thanks all
Hello,
I am very interested in your bike and wanting to purchase a bike that would fit me correctly for I am all of 4 ft. 11 inches with arms and legs of normal length for my height. I have done a little research and it appears I fall in the 44 cm bracket making your bike perfect for me, what you think? I would take very good care of it and certainly would appreciate the chance to purchase it. I was looking at a Women' Trek Bike (10 years old and in excellent condition and is under $100 at present on ebay. The bike is 20" and she said this would be perfect for me, but I am not really certain it would be for I am new to riding and know nothing when it comes to size 20", etc. numbers, sorry! I did purchase a new bike and had it set up and tuned and then when I went to ride it I tried stopping and could not place my feet on the road and tilted to the right side and fell with the bike on me, not a pretty picture, LOL! I wanted to hide under a rock or something. I guess it's safe to say the bike stands to tall for me, LOL! Can you help me out?
Thank you,
Peg

I'd urge you to take a bit of care... posting your full email address and your phone # on a public board may not be the most wise idea....
in any case the post you were looking at is several years old (2008) and the OP hasn't even posted anything since September of last year...
