amanda...papillons, i have decided, are not really dogs....they are either:

    a. a cross between a border collie and a cat
    b. aliens in silky dog suits
    I vote "B"!

Oh elk - I love the greys! I so want one....

I have a few new 'pets' to add to this thread.

Here are Sassafras and Buddy (Buddy is the small one):

And some of the chicks at 3 weeks (they are bigger now):

    Awwww....

I took my dogs for a walk yesterday and on the way we discovered a pair of goats living in our neighborhood! Never knew they were there.

They are the same size as my dogs, so of course, my dogs didn't quite know what to think. The dogs couldn't figure out why those funny looking dogs weren't barking, so they didn't bark, either. Then, the goats couldn't figure out why the dogs wouldn't come right up so they could sniff. Eventually my one dog got brave and very calmly poked his nose up to a goat's nose and they sniffed each other just like dogs do. Then the other goat stuck his head through the fence and all four of them happily sniffed all around.

Then the peace was shattered when the goat's dog finally saw us, and barked us away. My dogs FREAKED out then!

I'll still take them to sniff the goats if we can sneak up again.

Really? I may be serious. Let me run it by H.

What type of goats does your friend breed? Do you know if they offer stud service? We need to find Sassy a 'date' and we aren't quite sure how to go about it (and we don't want to get a buck of our own).

Ha! They aren't so cute anymore...they are funny looking with half adult feathers and half baby fuzz. I try not to think of them as 'pets' but I can't help it. I've already gotten attached to them!

I think that creature has been affected by nuclear fallout. Like Godzilla.

(Well, I'm not as frightened of those creepy dolls now that I see they are dwarfed by a cat!)

Normal sized creature shown for scale

This is Knott holding Hoodie. Hoodie the kitten is now H. my carpenter's cat. Spazzdog (who lurks here) helped socialize and find homes for Hoodie's 3 feral siblings, and H. got the Mom fixed.

On a home design note, yes, I have gotten rid of the ugly blue rug that's been in the background of practically all photos since starting to remodel

Trek, that kitty is so cuuuuuuuute! Seriously, there is nothing in this world as cute as a kitten, imo. They just melt my heart.

I love that pic of your cat, Bleeker. My little cat has hairy toes like that, too. So funny!

Trek- so glad to hear the good end result of the little kitties.

I just noticed that Knot and the teeny kitty both seem to have the same facial expressions in that photo.
