    Very new to cycling!

I never thought that I would be interested in cycling untill I saw my bf race last month. I loved the atmosphere and the excitement I could see in everyones faces! Sooo I decided to give it a try. I am doing this for the pure fun of it and also for the exercise. I am young and have a little bit of a belly after college and trying to get rid of it!!!

I just bought my first road bike, a Trek 1.2 WSD. My first time out I road 8 miles and have continued to do so the past 4 days. I am not sore at all so figured I might as well keep doing what I have been.

Again I am so new to this and really dont know anything! Any suggestions and tips would be appericated on starting out! Thanks

Hi Katie! Welcome to TE! You know, one of the perks of being a TE'er is you are *required* to share pics of your bike. Your first ride out is pretty impressive at 8 miles. I remember doing maybe 2 and was glad to get back to the car. Keep up the good work and you'll be a lean machine in no time.

    Hi katie
Hope you are as pleased as i am that we found this great site, there is so much encouragement and help here, it helped and gave me confidence no end. Glad you like to ride, the first time i rode a racing bike it was just under a mile and i thought i was going to die, that was around 9 months ago, just a couple of weeks ago i completed a 71 mile charity ride and i am still smiling about it, never ever thought i would do it but everyone here made me believe i could and they were right. Happy biking
