The pictures are horrific. It's amazing there weren't more very severe injuries.

Yeah, I just saw that in today's paper here in Norway and went on-line to see what was said about it here on TE. The picture in the paper is horrific, with at least four bikes and cyclists flying through the air, one helmet and a shoe flying loose (that may be from the one cyclist who was killed), another half dozen cyclists tumbling either side of the car, and uncountable others in a jumble of limbs and wheels. And you know what makes me even angrier after seeing the video of the tv-news on this? Here you have an injured cyclist giving one really good message to other cyclists (wear a helmet!) and the anchorlady concludes by saying that this guy says he'll be back on his bike as soon as he's fully recovered, but that "he will be more aware of his surroundings" ... as if it was the cyclist's inattention that caused the accident. No. No. and No. The cause of the accident was the idiot drunk driver! I hope HE never gets to go out in traffic again behind the wheel of a car!
