    I guess another option is finding someone to paint my bike. Painting is fine, since it's the heat of powder coating that doesn't agree with the carbon. I'd still save a lot of money if I had someone paint it, but I thought it would be kinda cool to have my nephew do the powder coating.

    I don't know what custom bikes you are looking at, but my Luna was alot less than $5-6k. And it's red!
