My bag is packed, the dog's bags are packed and I'm heading to Chattanooga tomorrow afternoon! I'm a bit nervous about the climbs and really nervous about coming down the mountains for it looks like a rainy day down south. I think I've prepared myself well and have spent the past four months training for this event. I've logged five centuries since the first of March and have done a lot of climbing (no mountains here but I have climbed a lot of hills). All that is left to do is ride the ride and have a good time.

I have to work in the morning and will hopefully be on the road by early afternoon. The game plan is to head directly downtown to pick up my packet and then make my way to my sister's house. I'll be at the start early Saturday morning and will be keeping my fingers crossed that the rain moves out of the area early. Not much I can about it if it doesn't other then to be very careful and attentive.

Off to bed to dream about a safe ride.

Good luck with the ride!! Wet downhills on mountains= scary! You'll do great tho. You're trained, ready, have put in the time, so go enjoy yourself (scary downhills and all- but that's coming from a downhill wimp). Please let us know how it went when you get back.
Wishing you safe travels on bike and in car...

Makbike, good luck to you! I'm eager to hear what you think of the ride because I'd like to do it someday. Be safe and have fun!

Aggh. The weather looks horrible for the ride. I'm not happy.
