    Suggestions for windproof/water resistant jacket?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I'm looking for a lightweight, packable, windproof, water resistant jacket. I don't like "crinkly" material and would prefer something that has a little stretch in it especially at the bottom because my hips are kinda big. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I have the Gore Windstopper Jacket. I just wore it for the first time this past weekend and I think it will work out perfectly as opposed to my PI Whisper jacket.

I got the Gore mainly for the zip off sleeves and then it turns into a vest. There are times when it begins chilly, and having the option to zip off the sleeves is great. There are also times when I just a vest would be perfect as opposed to a whole jacket.

It has good body, but not heavy at all. It is not the crinkly material that the PI Whisper is made of. My PI Whisper had no pockets either, which I missed. They have changed that since I bought it however.

Here is a link to the Gore....

Another vote for the Gore Windstopper. I got poured on last weekend (not for more than 15 minutes though) and I was dry underneath, save for sweat! It's not waterproof but really tough. I love the sleeves too. And the colours are quite vibrant.

Not quite as packable as a single thin layer, but boy howdy, it's a nice critter.
