Geez! I've been wondering! When he couldn't rotate his arm . . . Bill didn't need his set and the split was about 2 inches long parallel to the bone. He was told to do everything to maintain mobility. What does Thom's break look like? The doc told Bill 6 weeks which was the same day we started our Mt. Hood singletrack trip. Everything went terrific and healed pretty quickly. Given Bubba's (ah-hem) more advanced age, I would think Thom would do well.

You know, I'm usually the one that crashes. I shouldn't speak too loudly since I haven't even drawn blood in a while.

Really Kim, we DIDN'T plan this!

We'll have a picture on the web soon of his x-ray. To me it just looks like a gray line near the top of the bone.

It was a true accident. He picked a line going into the corner and didn't have time to react to the rut - which you could have parked a jeep in. It can happen to any of us. But I'm going to try to stay even more focused when I ride now!

Bubba just told me that he broke his ulna which is the big bone. I'm sending healing, positive thoughts. Jobob, V told me to stop being such a mom. Can you take over?

    Ouch! Hope Thom heals OK.

I'm missing something here -- was Bill/Bubba also hurt?

Bubba broke his ulna years ago in Oregon. The group of us were learning to wheelie and Bubba just had to go off and try a NOSE wheelie. He did the wheelie successfully , just forgot to let go of the brakes and went over the bars on pavement . He was sent to the back of the class.

He just split the ulna, no cast or anything, 6 weeks later we rode singletrack from Mt. Hood to the Columbia River.

oh V - I just caught this up!.....please give Thom hugs and kisses for his boo-boo! I'm so sorry to hear about his accident. Hope he heals slow but well!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
