Okay, so the downside to losing a bunch of weight is EVERYTHING needs replacing. Well, the bike doesn't, but shoes, socks, shorts, jerseys -- it's a good thing that my helmet is adjustable!

But that means I GET to buy new stuff, y'know? So it's really not horrible, just makes for an expensive start to the season -- and that happend at the beginning of ski season too. DH has been thrilled with this side effect of the weight loss project.

So, I replaced my Specialized Taho shoes (anyone need a pair? I'll have to check the size) with these Moto Divas. Stiffer, and lighter weight, and they definitely hug my feet better than my old shoes do these days.

Hopefully someone's familiar enough with them to answer a couple of questions, please? There are screws on the bottoms, in the toe area, and there's a red wrench-thingie and some knobby-things in a little zip-bag in the box. Do the screws and the bag of gizmos somehow go together, and what's the purpose?

    Karen.

I have the Motodivas too, and really like them.

The gizmos, etc. do belong together. They're toe spikes for extra grip if you plan to use the shoes for off road riding/not riding.

Since I use mine as road shoes, I haven't put the toe spikes on.

Hope this helps, and congrats on your weight loss and shopping spree!

Thanks, Melissa! It's good to know what they're for. I guess I'll stash those gizmos with the other stuff I don't use much, since I likely won't use them either!

The shopping spree has been pretty much on-going: I'm nearing 60 pounds gone since last June, and stuff that I wore then fits like putting on mommy's dresses, or daddy's jacket, y'know? Can't dress like that for work. what's kind of surprising is that even socks are too big!

    Good thing I enjoy shopping!
