    Interesting March 4th Rides

Well, I made it home safely

I did my first mini cycle to work today! It's 7km each way but it's ok for now as i keep an eye on my leg/knee. Sometimes the leg/knee felt fine, other times it was a bit painful. There are a few short sharp hills but am unable to just jumpt out of the saddle as i'm still getting the strength in my leg in order to pedal down from a standing position.

The biggest hurdle was walking up & down the stairs with my bike.

I encountered a wide range of emotions about cycling outside amongst people. From being eager, cautious, excited, frightened & then just plain happy about being out there. I know i can get back into the sshwwing of tings but need to force myself to be on the ball and on guard at all times for now. Since sudden movements still cause some pain, you bet i'll watch what other cyclists are doing around me!

Cycling is mostly mental work & it's going to be the key to getting to my goal!

    Have a good day kids

    Yay CC! Another hurdle!

It's been such an inspiration watching you pull yourself back from your injuries.

    Go cc go!!!

I got home fine last night - almost all of the forecast ice and sleet stayed south- and I got *in* to work... now it's snowin' like wild things out there. We're the heavy blob on the radar... and one of our public safety folks was out trying to salt one of frozen oozings on the sidewalk (we had lots of melt-refreeze) and took a bad fall on her wrist . Be careful out there... I might be taking the bus home...

Nope. Mainly it's a goof, but also a play on the pop wisdom that one of the things the song lyric means is "in the garden of Eden."

    march 4

I got outside and did 25 miles. Longest ride of the season so far. It took 1:40 which put me at 15mph. I think that is good.

It as a bit cold for my clothes. By the time I got home I couldn't feel my feet. about 4 hours later, after dinner and a school meeting my feet were still cold but I could feel them. My husband has some old socks that I will be making into shoe covers before I ride outside again.

I rode to the vegetable store and bought some greenbeans and an avocado.
    Then I rode home

Those shoe covers sound like a good idea in DRY weather.
