    update on my niece.

    Ok well....
She is still swollen. She seems to wake up with swollen eye's then they go down during the day. Supposedly the Dr said when she was in the hospital that they didn't think it was enviromental. I don't know? When I have allergies it sure seems to be worst in the morning and at night. It is all strange. My sis is not getting much rest. She worries constantly.
I just wish this thing would resolve itself.
Her cheeks have switched. I guess one was harder and more swollen in the hospital. Now the other one is and the bad one has gone down. Crazy stuff!

Brandi - once they've ruled out all of the nasty possiblilities (and I am hopeful that that's exactly what will happen) see if you can convince your sister to take her to a traditional Chinese medicine doctor. They can do an evaluation and help a lot with symptoms that don't seem to have an explanation in a Western Medicine framework. Especially allergies and weird stuff like this.

waking up with swollen eyes. If its an alergy could it be the detergent? sleeping on a pillow...

I use unsecented Arm and Hammer deterent because I can't stand the fragrance of most detergent. And I want hypo alergenic. A box of Arm and Hammer detergent is only about $5.00 so it can't hurt. Oh my washing machine has extra rinse cycle so I always have it on.

Brandi, I was thinking allergy also. What about the fill of the pillow? I know I have trouble with duck feathers (but goose down seems fine).

Still sending lots of butterflies to help figure this out and make the little sweetie all healthy again.

    Hugs, too

I think this allergy idea makes a lot of sense, and while I don't know where she lives, where I live mountain cedar is out in full force right now, at record high levels. Perhaps it is time to consult with a pediatric allergist.

It seems that what it is but the Dr's claim it is not enviromental. It does seem like that is what it is. She has been waking up with swollen eye's in the morning that seem to calm down during the day. Which sure sounds like allergy to me. But I don't know. You would think 108k would give you some answers! That is how much the final hospital bill was! Ouch! And with no answers and tons of stress. What a bargin!
