March 9 is the day we get daylight savings time
In my part of the world:
Today's sunset is 5:48PM
In 60 days:
Sunset will be 7:55
The days are getting longer! Hang in there Northern Hemisphere'ers
Now, let me go climb on my trainer!![]()

My favorite word this time of year: SPRING.
But I don't want the northern hemisphere to have summer soon..I want more summer...
It'll be icky & wet outside by the time i get back into the groove![]()
I can't wait, the first time trail is 2/16 (in one month!), I have 32 miles to date! I hope Spring comes fast.
I'm desparate for longer days too. I was just guessing where the road was on Monday night when I did my after-work ride. No moonlight to show where the dark road ended and the dirt shoulder started. Lucky I've done the route enough time to know approximately where the road goes. I'm looking forward to being able to do the ride in full daylight and see wildlife in the fields!
I like the way you think Mr. Silver!![]()
DH and I feel that January's redeeming quality is the amount of light we start gaining back. Sunday eve we were on a walk and realized we could see a glimmer of sunset on the horizon just before 6:00. He was jumping for joy! The lack of light affects him more than me, I think...
Come on, spring!!!![]()

March 9th? Isn't that way early? I know the moved it back in the fall.
I spend all February praying for daffodils to appear. But I'll be getting a good dose of sunlight a week from Friday when we fly to Miami and cruise with the Barenaked Ladies.![]()

Even in Florida it's cold and rainy and gloomy this morning.
Thanks for the reminder of better times on the way, Mr. Silver!!!

YAY! I can't wait. I don't mind riding in the dark with lights, but there's nothing like it being light at 8:00 p.m.
I have a love hate thing going with messing around the clock "spring Forward, Fall backward".
I love the fact it stays lighter in the evening but on Mar. 9, I would have to get up at 3:00AM instead of my customary 4:00AM. Telling my body that its already 4:00AM takes a bit of coaxing.
Maybe if I take a snooze, this will be a just an odd dream.

Wow, that's early!![]()
We've had a mild winter and I've been spending most afternoons playing outside. I like seeing the sun set later each week. Won't be long and I'll hear the peeper frogs sing.![]()
Love those spring peepers.
I can already tell the days are lighter longer. Hee HEEE!

And I really really wanted you on the bike in some of the lovely weather that has been happenning
Somehow I hadn't registered you are a TT enthusiast... do you post course descriptions and/or race reports somewhere? I'd be interested to have a nosey at them (I assume you mean TTs...)Originally Posted by Mr. SR500
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
I'm already giddy with the thought of being able to ride after work again. One of the bigger perks of my job is that I'm done at 4:30, which gives me enough time from mid-March to mid-October to ride in the evening after work. Oh, the joy.
That said, I'm actually enjoying my winter routine. I like going to the Y and meeting new people. It's very social and, who knows, maybe I'll meet a nice, athletic man! Spinning is actually fun, in a masochistic way. My Tuesday spin instructor actually told me last night that he likes to just watch me in class because I'm so intense and lost in my own world. Either that, or was flirting with me.![]()
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.
