Even injured, you're an inspiration to those around you. How cool is that!?!
I know, you want to mope. Inspirations don't get to mope.

Over the holidays, my 11 year old neice told me that she had started jogging to get in shape. They have a trail in their back property and she has been doing loops on the trail. We chatted about her progress and decided that she and her mom and I would do a trail race together this spring. I found a local 5k that had a 1 mile kid's run so that she could have options if she was not up to the 5k.
We decided that we would get a whole bunch of girls, of all ages to train, New Year /New You sort of thing, and that we would all race together. I sent out an email to a bunch of women that I teach with and got race plans together.
The next day I get sidelined with tendonitis. Blam. Fast forward 11 days. Back at school. All kinds of people have signed on to train for the race, with their spouses and kids. Go me!
So here I am in the middle of a spectacular mope about being injured and all day long people are stopping in to report how well their first week of training went. Emails, phone calls. Everyone is feeling just dandy...
OK people, I am really happy for you, and proud of you, but if one more person stops by my room to tell the injured triathlete how well their running is going I am going to scream and run with scissors.
I am trying to MOPE here people...how can I be mopey if you are all upbeat with the training reports.....
Oh for heaven's sake.....I have created endorphin filled monsters...all with the happiness....sheesh....

Now, RnR... you reckon you are gonna RUN with scissors?
Hmmm?
So, go girl - its mini-training!
Seriously, I know how frustrating it can be when everyone else seems to be doing and you can only watch and try to be magnanimous when listening.
My boss had achilles surgery mid-December, so I am being very careful not to go on too much about my cycling - he's a triathelete... but hopes the surgery will mean he can run again - he hasn't been able to run much since 2006.
Wishing you quick healing and loooooong breaks in between those drop-by-and-blurt enthusiasts. Your time will come.
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
I see RR beat me to the smartarse comment - I was going to suggest you throw the scissors so as not to compromise your recovery.
Anyway, think of all the new training buddies you'll have when you're better.(And try not to maim any of them in the meantime.
)
Drink coffee and do stupid things faster with more energy.
I throw like a girl, but I am pretty motivated to hit someone right now. Maybe I can practice my throwing while I am laid up.....hey that could be it...my new hobby. Knife throwing. I have always wanted to run off and join the circus. This could be my in.
RNRG-Let's join the circusDo they take folks that have funky knees
Don't throw scissors k...Just nod your head and then do the grrrrr dance..Be careful though!
