Well, if one of those bikes belongs to Mr. Sandra then you only have two. Two is good, everyone should have at least two bikes (in case something happens to one).

[QUOTE=MDHillSlug;263708]1973 VINTAGE PEUGEOT
I had the "men's" version of this bike.... I sold it because I was an idiot and wanted to buy one of the first mountain bikes when they came out. (remember the days before MTB?) Mine looked just like this one (same paint, decals, general components), but mine was an early 80's, so I'm not sure about the seller dating it to 1973.
I'm feeling a little pang of desire.![]()
(darn it, I should know better than to look at these threads!!!!!)

I Want The Red One!
I gave away an old red mountain bike when I got my first Giant. I wish I hadn't but where would we have put it next to the 3 kayaks and our 4 bikes and now my scooter?
The first time my dh had to take he's main bike into the shop is when we learned having a back up bike (even if it is not a great one) is important. When dh made my last bike I thought I would sell my 2 year giant (which is a bit big for me) and then realized not only is it good to have a spare but if someone visits we can go for a bike ride! my dh has a 1988 diamondback i used to think was a really light bike! Ha that is funny.

Dear Sandra and TE'ers:
I understand what it is like to have more than one bike. Actually, I understand what it is like to have 9 bikes...
yes...9 BIKES
Please go to this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Bf1JKFzWDQ
Here is the breakdown on the bikes you see on the video:
1) My daughter's bike (she's getting a rad looking Specialized HotRock in HOT PINKthis christmas!! You can go to: http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=32267 and enlarge in PINK if you're interested:-P)
2) Our Trek T900 tandem. We swapped out the nubby mountain bike wheels and had roadie wheelz put on so we could go moar faster!
3) My FUJI Finest 2.0 in Pink
4) BF's Hardtail GIANT Yukon MTB with upgraded components
5) BF's Cannondale (1993) ST600 Touring Bike that he shined up and made pretty. Now used for commuting.
5) Mongoose Tag-A-Long
6) BF's GIANT TCR-2
7) Late 80's Fixed Gear Miata
8) Late 80's Raleigh Capri(?) that the BF fixed up for me (it was mad rusty and not lovely at all). Her name is Steelzilla
9) NOT FEATURED: Panasonic RoadFrame that is resting at the foot of our bed.
**please note that there is a shot of the Pinarello Prince on the computer screen where the BF indulges in most of his bike p0rn**
Since that room that all the bikes live in is our [B]150 SQ . FT [B] back room in our 900 SQ FT home, there are just sacrifices that need to be made--hence the frame that lives in our bedroom that will one day become a neat little fixed gear.
I just thought that this post was awesome because you guys are right---you can never really have too many....at least that is what I tell myself everytime the BF brings a new toy home.
Nothing Vintage.....yet.....

Thank you. I feel so normal and healthy now.My confession was only concerning mixtes. I didn't mention my Trek 1000 or DH's Trek Pilot.
5 bikes .... 2 people.... = 2 1/2 bikes per person. Not bad at all.

Hey Sandra!
I figged that it was about the mixtes but I noticed the convo veering towards how many bikes can you cram in a house! I think that the more you have the more options you get...kind of like shoes...!!
I think your confession is amazing and awesome! Keep collecting :-)

We have 8 bikes *in the house* - somehow, I thought we'd renovate the detached garage and put some in there, but it doesn't feel secure enough somehow (either from weather or theft). So....4 in the living room, 1 in the dining room and three in the extra bedroom.
AHHHHH...It *IS* an illness.....
And I really want at least 2 more.....
