I did pretty well today. I ate mostly frozen diet food (have GOT to make stuff at home to bring to work) because I haven't had time to cook. I'm within my WW point range, at least which is good because I didn't run today. I love the days I run, gives me more points

Has anyone tried the Special K chocolate cereal? To be honest, it's pretty good. It sounds funny but it really does work if you have chocolate cravings!

We have a birthday cake sitting around that I successfully avoided or included in my calorie+workout total. Last night at about 7:00 pm, after I was all fed for the day, I just HAD to have a slice of that cake!

It wasn't a big slice, but it was bigger than the slices I had included in my calorie totals.

Luckily it only put me over the top by about 50 calories. Still, I can't have that every day. I've been trying to get the birthday boy (14) to eat huge slices of the cake, but he's resisting (he tries to eat healthy, too).

I don't eat at night. At 4:00 pm I'm hungry for dinner or will be by 5:00, so my eating pretty much stops by 6:00 depending on what I'm cooking. So for me to have that cake late is unusual.

On a positive note, we've all avoided the leftover Halloween candy since Halloween night. We usually end up throwing it away anyway--except Smarties--I love Smarties (only 25 calories per roll).

Yesterday wasn't a good day. Not because I didn't make good food choices though. I didn't eat much food yesterday (or the last couple of days). I have had some major tooth and mouth pain and finally had a root canal on Tuesday morning. Haven't feel like eating or even excited about any food(which is scary for me).

Mouth is feeling better (at least one area) so I am off to find something for breakfast. Care to share any ideas on goods foods to eat that don't require a lot of chewing

Haven't worked out at all this week either...

Sandra I am going to try very hard today to be good! I like that rule no off the wagon two days in a row!

Five One I am a big time holiday cookie baker! But do I have the will power to bake and not eat? And my son, who will be home for the holidays from college, looks forward to my cookies, pies, and breads. And I love giving them away to neighbors and co-workers. But I also eat a lot of what I bake. Will power . . . I just need will power which I am finding I have less and less of these days.

So to bake or not to bake that is my question to myself! And I have a to die for rum cake that I serve up every Christmas Eve. When the lid is removed the aroma will knock your socks off!

Deidre . . . sorry about your mouth. Hey how about some nice homemade soup? This time of year is the perfect time for soups.

Flybye - I'm following your weigh-in schedule. I've done daily before, and weekly before...and I still need to lose, so I figure twice weekly may just be the ticket!

    Start: 159.2
    Today: 158.6
    -0.6 (I'll take it)

I haven't worked out since starting this because I have been very, very 'phlegmy' leftover from the flu. Tonight will be my first workout and I'm looking forward to it! I've also been having super cravings for veggies, so that's what I've been eating...a LOT. I'm averaging over 5 cups of veggies a day! I've had very little meat since last Saturday (which is odd for me) and I'm feeling good. Yesterday we had a group celebration lunch at PFChangs, but I really wasn't tempted by anything. I asked that we order a 'Budha's Feast' (all veggies) and I stuck to that, brown rice and two bites of grilled salmon. Everyone else gorged themselves, so I was feeling mighty self-satisfied, if I do say so myself!

Now to just get the exercise component up and running... (no pun intended!)

I'm sorry about your mouth, Deidre!

When I had gum surgery a few years back, I lived on yogurt and soup....and I don't even like soup! I also made a lot of smoothies - but I had to use only fruits that had no seeds as those got stuck in my stitches (no blueberries or strawberries). I remember not even being able to chew cooked pasta or bananas!

I work at a place that has a chef for breakfast and lunch, and sometimes his desserts are incredible. When I just can't resist, I realize that I really only want to taste it. One bite will usually do it. The trick is to immediately make the rest inedible -- toss it, put a napkin over it (and smoosh it in so you can't change your mind) or anything else to get it out of reach.

And, with regards to leftover cake -- if your son doesn't want it either, throw it out! It's probably not as good as it was fresh, so toss it, or give it away. Bring it to work, invite son's friends over to polish it off -- get it out of your house! Same thing with the Halloween candy. Nothing worse than blowing your diet on the yucky Halloween stuff. Blow it on good dark chocolate, and give away the nasty stuff.

Someone brought bags and bags of their left over trick-or-treat candy to work and left them in the kitchen. M & M's and all kinds of chocolate. It's really small packs. No, can't have it. I got a piece of Double Bubble and I'm taking deep breaths.

I know you might not want to divulge this for privacy reasons, but I am dying to know where you work that provides a breakfast & lunch chef!

No worries. It's a post-production company -- video editing, audio (that's what I do), film transfer, graphics, interactive stuff. Our clients are tv producers, ad agency folks, creative types. It's cheaper for us to have lunch served here than to shut down our sessions and have everyone leave the building for lunch. Great for our clients, good for the company's bottom line (our rooms are billed by the hour, so if we leave the building for a two-hour lunch, that's two hours we're not billing!) but lousy for the employee's waistlines. Today was white-chocolate macadamia nut cookies. I'm sticking with fresh pineapple and apricots, but the cookies are gonna be out there all day.

reeses everywhere today! My class is driving me nuts! Why do ten kids have to go crazy and have issues on the same day? Why can't they spread it out? Must NOT eat the reeses!

Thanks for posting! I haven't braved the scale again yet . . . maybe tomorrow morning. This week has just been too crazy. Anyways, your loss is encouraging me to finish the day strong

But I fluctuate several pounds depending on water retention and activity level, so I will allow myself only a little yahoo today and see where I am next Monday.

More Halloween candy here today - Snickers. I'm fine all morning with it sitting on a cabinet so close to me. I hope I can get through the afternoon when resolve begins to weaken. Maybe by then my boss - queen of the mindless grazers - will eat it all (then complain that she just can't seem to lose weight ).

+1 for yogurt and soup (Trader Joe's tomato and roasted red pepper - yum!) following a root canal. Hope you're feeling better, deidre. They are no fun.

Brought a cup (measured) of leftover homemade lentil soup for lunch. Also have a container of carrots and red peppers and some lowfat yogurt to see me through the day.

    Cheers to all

Congrats for all of those who have lost already!! That is really great and really motivates me. I want to post a loss on Monday.

I stayed at 147 which is ok. I usually put on a few extra during that wonderful time of month

I feel good, have eaten well, did body pump this morning and am headed out after work to do a quick 20 on the bike while it is still light.
I am never down. I am either up or getting up.
