    My first race too!

My first race was last Saturday. It's called Starcrossed and kicks off the cross season with a fun nighttime race. Well, the pros race at night, mine was much earlier in the day. It was a combined 3/4 field and I was just so worried that I'd get clobbered. I thought for sure I'd get lapped and pulled from the course (it's UCI sanctioned), but I wasn't going down without a fight. The start gun blasted and the melee began. I was stuck in the back (registered late) and did just OK for the first 2 laps, then perked up and was able to pass a few people on the last 2. I came in 39th out of 52. I was hoping to do much better but that bumpy course really took it out of me. Regardless I had a blast and am looking forward to my next race in 2 weeks

Congratulations on finishing your first race, and doing well! That is a HUGE field of racers - was it all women?

Good luck at your next race - we'll be anxiously awaiting that report too!

Yes it was all women- isn't it awesome that we've got so many ladies out racing? It's kind of intimidating though

Drtgirl...I'm sure that after a few more races, you'll be disguising yourself as a man and kicking Ryan Trebon's butt!

(hee, hee...if I'm really sneaky, K will never know that it's ME!!! oh...except for my darn signature!!!!)

Congratulations on your race!! Huge field! That's so awesome to think somewhere in the country there are so many women getting out and racing.

    Most excellent, DirtDiva
Just having looked at Shefly's thread I now have an idea about just how much cross country stuff is involved in cyclocross
You finished well in the middle of a very large field, and in your first race too!
    I'm well-impressed!
Looking forward to hearing about your next one!

    "I will try again tomorrow".

Wasn't me. I haven't developed my love of pain and suffering enough to race cyclocross.
