It's too rainy to ride today so I took the opportunity to snap some pics of my new bike. My first club ride w/the new bike was on Saturday, 60 miles w/plenty of climbing and she operated flawlessly (can't say as much for the operator, however) On the steepest section of the climb out of the valley we were in, I accidentally shifted to the big ring and had to walk a stretchIt takes time to get used to the shifting.
Anyhow, last night on a little solo adventure on my usual route, I averaged 16.3, which is at least a mile faster than my old bike, and it was raining for part of the ride. I see good things in my future, this bike is really something special and I love her!![]()

PS. Ooo, I like the carbon rear fork. Very classy.
But isn't your saddle tilted down a bit much? Makes me feel I'd slide right out of it![]()

Thanks Laila, you are correct about the saddle, I fixed it. I actually did ride about 80 miles w/the nose down like that and didn't notice much of a problem, though it is better more level. I'm getting a new saddle tomorrow this one isn't doing the trick. My shop will make me a trade.
Here's the bike w/the saddle position corrected:

Lovely bike, Mom... as I started to read this and look at the pix, I was impressed by the saddle nose... I thought - wow, you really must get into a low position - you need aero bars!

What kind've saddle are you getting? Enjoy, very sweet looking bicycle
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
I think I will get a specialized body geometry or a terry butterfly ti.....this is terry cro-mo butterfly and I just don't feel it's worthy of this bike. Plus it's really soft and causes discomfort in the front girlie parts...thus the dramatic downward tilt of the saddle![]()
My sit bones are about 6 inches apart so I need a fairly wide saddle.
I was supposed to go to the shop tomorrow, and it's about a 50 mile round trip drive, which means it will take a big chunk out of the prime of the day. And I want to ride instead since it's my day off. So I'm going to put my old saddle (a terry liberator) on the bike and ride that until I take the bike back in for the first tune-up, and make the switch then.
That way, I save time and gas. and I will be OK on the old saddle for a few more weeks.
Does anyone have any suggestions about a good saddle? I was seriously considering the selle an-atomica, but oy! the price! But a gold one would sure look purty on my bike, don't you think?
