    My good buy

I went today to Goodwill to have a look around, gues what I found? A pair of Cannondale bike shorts! $1.75

Altho they are hot pink I need to wash them good, any ideas of how to do that w/o ruining them? I know you can't bleach lycra. Occasionally I find things like that, I found a Hind running shirt a couple of months ago, this store is near some wealthy neighborhoods so good deals are there you just have to look hard.

    Another source of good buys...

Not to hijack your thread, but I found a Terry Racer skort (new) at Marshall's (a discount clothing store) for $9.99 last fall. I've also seen jerseys there, though never in my size. It pays to go in those places!

I wonder if "bleach for colors" would be OK????

    Ooooo..hot pink!!

You know what they say, "Sunlight is the best disinfectant." Give 'em a long wash with an enzyme detergent then lay them in the sun chamois up.

Bleach for colors is most commonly peroxide, which is good at taking care of *biologicals*.

My good buy (sorry to hijack, but I'm so excited ): A pair of Sugoi tri shorts from Goodwill for $2.99!!! I don't even really swim, but I'm looking at my first Texas summer, and know I will be towing my son on his tag-along to the swimming holes on a regular basis. These shorts are perfect!!! Even more perfect: they're long enough to cloak the saddlebags !!

Great buys!!!! My shorts turned out too small my son can wear them tho he said he will wear shorts over them! the kids say pink is the new black

I was disappointed tho, I really need another pair of shorts. I don't think we have Marshalls here, this is a small area and the malls are pretty much crappy (all 2 of them). We do have LBS but they want arms & legs for their shorts. I am thinking about buying some tri shorts - since I plan on doing a tri I suppose I should - from Fleet Feet - a specialty running shoe store, hopefully they will work.

I will keep looking at the goodwill tho!

So, pink is the new black,eh? I'll have to remember that.

Sorry to hear your score didn't turn out so well. Like the pair of PIs I got at a thrift store. First ride I found out they had a wicked pokey nylon (like fishing line) thread which only emerged from the chamois when I was a few miles from home. Sometimes you get a great deal, sometimes you get what you pay for !

Have you tried ebay? If you're patient (and lucky), you can score some good deals, especially in larger sizes.

Yeah, I tried ebay, I bought a pair only to find out they are too big - Peal Izumi's too! really nice looking ones but the chamois rides way up my back. I have a pair of Larges that are a snug fit so I thought an XL wouldn't be too bad - WRONG

I just keep riding in my bright blue ones with knickers over them! I did 25 miles this w/e and they were great no problems. I also bought them from ebay for $15.00. They are the older style Trekwear, I really like them and have made a skirt to wear over them but it is still a little cool outside for me to go w/o my legs covered.

Well, off to ebay I go.
