2000 Miles and a new long distance!!

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I rode the Goatneck Tour on Saturday and put in a couple of miles this morning (took a vacation day from work). The 100K route turned out to be 71.1 miles. This has been my longest ride to date. It makes me think that I actually may be able to complete a full century this year. So I'm now at 2001 miles for the year!!

Congratulations!!!! If you can do 71 miles, you can do a century. No problem. And congrats on reaching 2k. You go girl!

Thanks everyone. If I try a full century this year I hope it isn't too hot. The heat really gets to me. I think that's why I felt good on this ride...it was cloudy which kept it cool. There was also quite a bit of shade along the route.

Lisa, the fall would be a great time to do an imperial...too bad it's usually still in the 90s here that time of year. Maybe this year we'll get lucky since it's been a cooler summer than usual.

Mimitabby, you aren't that far behind...close enough for me to hear you breathin'!

Indy, I did the ice in the sports bra once. Worked ok but the water over the head was much better...I've done this before and it really helps.

Silver, yeah...I may be coming over to the dark side... It felt good to do a long distance ride.

The really cool thing was my DH telling me that he was surprised that when I came home I didn't just plop down on the couch for the rest of the day. I actually wasn't worn out for the rest of the day. Cool...gettin' stronger!
