Vino SMASH!!!!! I love this quote from Daily Peloton-- "Vino: 'I've found my motivation again for the Tour, and my legs are back. I'm not worried about tomorrow, my tour starts here'"![]()
Darned good showing for both Astana and Rasmussen. It'll be sooooooooo interesting to see how Vino does going into the Pyrenees after today's effort, and to see what comes from the accusations agains Razzy.
Could this Tour be any more of a nail-biter???

Indeed! DH and I were just puzzling over the standings. Did Cadel do 2nd in today's stage or is he now 2nd overall?? Either way, he's who I'm cheering for.....

Thanks TH! Obviously, we don't follow the racing closely, but I liked Cadel as a mountain bike racer, and am really happy to see him doing so well in the Tour! Besides, there are no Canucks there, so I must cheer for the Aussie!![]()

Mate I dont have TV so I dont get to see a lot of the tour but I follow as much as I can at Velonews. Funny to see how many of the top riders use to be mountain bike racers. Now if only I could stay upright on my mountain bike I might be able to tell if it helps my road riding or not.![]()

Vinnie! Vinnie! Vinnie! Vinnie!
Chicken! Chicken! Chicken! Chicken!
Usually the TT stages are a little dull, but WOW, that was amazing. Vino rode himself right back into contention and Rasmussen pulled out a TT that no one thought he'd be able to ride. That was thrilling, I can't wait for tomorrow and the mountains!!!!

After everything that's happened to him, I'm rooting for Vino. What a courageous, determined rider.
I'm also happy for Cadel---excellent ride today!

GO VINO! Yeah. Good job, guy.

VINO all the way -- what determination!!! As one of the announcers opined today, he is truly a beast! GO GO GO!!!!

Once again my boy Levi was just ho hum...![]()
He's either saving it for the Pyranees, or he's just not on this year. I can't figure it out, but he doesn't seem to have any spunk??
I'm also wondering if his early season races have anything to do with it?? Maybe he peaked too early? I dunno?? Just speculating, but he doesn't seem himself.
Personally I'm thinking Contador is looking like the one for Disco. That boy can fly- and climb! Imagine what he's going to be like in a few years.
I was also very happy to see Vino smash. Oh- and Cadel... Gotta love the mountain goats that come show the roadies how the game is played!![]()
Oh and Georgie boy.. He isn't doing much either, but he's so dang CUTE!![]()
At this point, it doesn't seem that anyone knows whether Rasmussen has doped. So far there's only hearsay and no proof. Whitney Richards tells a plausible story, but he also supposedly dumped the evidence. It's also interesting that no other cycling news sources have jumped on this yet, and it's been on Velonews for over 24 hours now. Edit: I just found this article at BikeRadar.com. The reader comments below the article say a lot, especially this one: "Other sports must look at cycling and laugh because as long as we are bent on witch hunting the pressure is off them to make any attempt to clean up there [sic] act."
As with any other rider accused of doping, we shouldn't make any assumptions about Rasmussen until there's either definitive evidence or an admission of guilt. Just wait and see what other information comes out.

Ozzi-yozzie-yozzie! Well done Cadel Evans!
Vino with only one bandage now and lookin' good!
Contador is just coming on - watch him in the mountains!
We are doing well - iirc, both Evans and Contador were early picks by TE'ers (as in the first Tour-related thread way before the TdF actually began).
All you need is love...la-dee-da-dee-da...all you need is love!
The Velonews story was also picked up by l'Equipe, but credited to Velonews (they're not independently reporting the story).
I also had to root for Vino today. I know he'll consider anything less than a win to be a disappointment, but a stage win is a nice prize in any event.
