    Question about Bianchi Veloce

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I saw a used one for sale at the LBS today. 56" so too big for me, but I was curious about it. Full campy, Italian (not Taiwan). Asking price, $899. That seemed like a good price to me, but I was curious what y'all would think.

How do you figure out what I good price is on a used bike, anyway?

If it's old enough that it has Veloce parts, it is probably just like my bike. (what color is it?) I LOVE my Bianchi, it just carried me up and down hills for 6 + hours today. It's lack of fenderability is the reason I decided to go custom, but the bike itself is sound and zippy.. and steel!

for six tanks of gas you could have bought a bike.

It's RED. Very pretty. And I will ask about the year and the campy stuff, because I think it would be interesting to see what kind of price they're putting on their used bikes, for future reference. Thanks!

    I love mine

I bought mine three years ago and it has been a great bike. I paid right around two thousand for her. I could have gotten a red one that was in stock a bit cheeper, but I had the LBS order one for me in the traditional Bianchi Celeste color which I love. At times I have been known to use all 30 of her gears to climb hills. I think the campy parts on mine are known as a Veloce group. I think the price your bike shop is asking sounds about right. I would not let mine go for less. ( Actually, I would not let mine go for any price as we still have a great relationship!)
