    another try at mountain biking

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Tam and I are ready to try Rosaryville again, either June 30, July 1, or July 4. (I'll try to stay on my bike--instead of my face--this time.)

Another option is to do the REI/Wildlife Refuge loop. Or maybe both rides, if we're ambitious.

Anyone else want to join us?

    Are you all healed up?

I'm always up for a ride. The REI loop is on-road, right?

Oh, yeah, I'm fine except for a few scars. Yes, the REI loop is a road ride.

    I'm only good for roads.
My mountain bike is a museum piece, heavy and suspension-less. It's good for the canal, though.
Come up this way and we can do the three covered bridges ride.

Where is Rosaryville? The flat bar bike I'll probably buy tonight (Jamis Coda Sport) should handle some light MTB'ing. It's got MTB gearing and can take a wider tire.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

    New bike--cool!

Rosaryville is just beyond Andrews Air Force Base in Upper Marlboro. That would be cool if you could come, too.

Hehe, when we rode Rosaryville the last time, didn't I say we had to get Nicole on an mtb-type bike?

I wanna see your Coda, I keep hearing good things about those bikes.
"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

What's everyone doing on the morning of July 4th? If we want to get Nicole out on the dirt, would that be a good day to do it?

I'll try to swing it. Since I'll be out of town the weekend before and therefore missing my regular weekend ride I can probably sell this as a trade.

There was some talk of doing Rosaryville and a road ride; is that still a possibility?

Just remember, I can't afford an injury that would derail my triathlon training

Janice and I originally were talking about doing one of the rides over that last June weekend, then the other one on July 4.
