According to this calculator I'll be dead in three months.
Um, ok.

I'm posting this to avoid a hijack of the "How do you explain to one of them..." threads on the cycling board where the interest in life expectancy was raised (particularly given reference to a high mortality rate for Research PHd's...which honestly shocks me)
So, here's a life expectancy counter:
http://gosset.wharton.upenn.edu/mort.../CalcForm.html
It doesn't have precise occupational tables, but it considers many factors including habits, health, exercise, etc.
My life expectancy is 86+ years...but I'm adopted and don't have a family medical history.

According to this I'll live to 89.1 Funny thing is, I put in a different state - Arizona - and I'll live ever so slightly longer 89.3. Louisiana isn't exactly known for having the best medical care, or diet. I drink Mississippi River water (treated), that flows past numerous petrol and chemical plants, aside from everything else that's draining from 1/3 of north america. We joke about being in a thrid world country, and after Katrina, it's probably true, especially down here on the coast.
So let's see, I can max out the credit cards round about 88.... Go out in flaming glory!

Moderate red wine consumption has been linked to lower risks of heart disease, I think.
My life expectancy is 91.12 years. My husband's is 86.75. Mine is probably lowered because I have a first degree relative with breast cancer, and his because of family histories of stroke and diabetes. I'm three years older than him so this leaves me only two years to find a hot young second husband, damn it.
According to this quiz. I'm going to die in the next 3 to 7 years.
Interesting, seeing as the only risk factors I have are heart disease and stroke in my family, I exercise like crazy and I'm amoungst the fittest of the population. Diet's good. I'm married and don't sleep around.
I have had 4 of the major stressors happen in the last 12 months. Do they really weight that stuff that heavily. I can't imagine that I'm ready to keel over. I'm only 35.![]()
I posted this just to give an example of how skewed some of these quizes are. Very interesting tho.

My life expectancy is 93.86 years. If I lost 60 pounds, it would add one month to my life. So I guess I can stop obsessing about losing weight, huh?
do I really want to live that long?
yeeks. I wont have any money left by then![]()

91.6
hmm. I'll take it. My father died at 47 of a heart attack, but I like these numbers much better. My brothers and I are all in our forties with that "magic" number 47 looming closer and closer. Talk about a major stressor...
93.39 years.
So...are we all a bunch of healthy freaks, or does this seem a little ... um, generous? Consider, the current average lifespan for women in the US today is...what? 77?
