Went to the Post Office today and there it was sitting there from yesterday.
Immediately saw it was from OZ and then sneaked a look at the customs declaration - Tim Tams. Ot with my trusty Swiss Army pocket knife - somebody else was using the collective scissors- and inside the postie envelope I found a beautiful collection of things.
An expensive fluffy towel in a lovely shade of Cab Sav, a red silk-covered embroidered Chinese box with chocs , a red aromatherapy candle and Love-Potion Tim Tams! And a bike-card in a chartreuse envelope!
Everywhere it was written "Your Feb ss" and then I saw in tiny tiny writing her name...
    Thank you Thea V!

I hope something comes soon. I could use the cheering up. I have a lousey cold. And the weather is perfect for ridding but nose has decided running would be more fun!

Oh, I see the chocolates are all different colours and flavours. Very handmade and expensive looking now that I "examine them closely"!!!

so glad they got through customs margo49! i was a little worried that they might confiscate the choccies and tim tams!

the choccies are paddington... i like them and hoped you might!

sorry it was so late, it's always hard sending overseas and worrying about customs... and my thoughts invariably are food-focused , but it seems the world of customs are starting to understand the importance of tim tams

To my SS from Wisconsin (mtbdarby??)- thank you so much for the cool stuff.

You have no idea how timely the sports beans were. I needed to go for a ride after work tonight (I am doing a nine day tour starting in 10 days and hadn't ridden for a couple of days). Half way home from work I realise that I had been stuck in meetings all afternoon and hadn't eaten an afternoon snack (which I need to do a good evening ride)). I also realised that I don't really have any carbo snacks in the pantry. Then I get home and there it is!! I've read about sports beans here and on a running forum I hang out on, but they aren't easily available here in NZ so I hadn't tried them before.

The wallet is very cool too. When bf and I go for a day long ride I generally grab an ATM card and $20 and throw them in a jersey pocket - but they do get sweaty and I worry about the risk that I will drop something when reaching into the pocket for something else.

The 'smellies' will get good use too - I'll be doing my longest ride for about 15 months on Sunday so a nice long soak in the bath will defintely be called for after that.

    Thank you!!

KG - you're welcome I hope the beans didn't melt in your heat. Trust me, they were frozen when I shipped 'em Enjoy the wallet - I love mine. Another great product recommended by TE.

I am not worried! More worried that maybe something happend to my ss. I sure hope not if that was the case she would not have to send me anything! i understand when stuff comes up! I can always jump on the next one. Really! But our organizer informed me this morning that everything was still a go. so I am glad nothing has happend as far as we know. I am a very patient person!

p.s. I hope my SS wouldn't be disappointed when she receives the gift. I'm reading about all things you get, and also compared with the things I got, and I have to say... well... mine gift is simple, but from the hart.

We discussed this last month , I think.
Seems like everyone is really happy with what they receive and the love and thought do not evaporate on the long postal journeys.
I always have to send overseas too, and so I tried to keep it light this time after going totally overboard sending a 1 kg jar of honey and a 250 gram jar of homemade jam (nett weight that is not including the glass jar!) the previous month! Crazy but such fun!

btw, Thistle, I ate the last Paddingtion chocolate a couple of hours ago - it was coconut, my favourite.

i agree, it's not about what's in the package, it's about having a ss who sends you a package that's what makes me feel special

glad you liked the paddingtons... they really are not bad
