Why would it bunch at the waist? I've got a really long torso, so part of the problem is coverage. I've got hips, but I've got a really low waist.

So far I'm a fan of UA, but I still need something with pockets. I'll try some Craft...I hope they fit in the shoulders. In case anyone else wants to try UA, I'm a size larger in heatgear than I am in coldgear, and coldgear stuff is longer in the torso by a little bit.

    Thanks for the link!

I'm not so sure if the Craft shirts are that great. I bought 2 ls ones last year for x country skiing and winter cycling. I bought smalls instead of x smalls, because Terry recommended this; they run small. When I got them, I discovered they are hugely long on me ! I am 5' 1" and thin and these shirts could have six inches cut off of them. I don't like tucking anything into my tights. It leaves a nasty line, which in addition to your cycling shorts, looks weird. The shirts come down to my thighs. And, they hold odor badly. I wear them, but I think you need to be tall and skinny for them to fit right.

I just bought some Patagonia base layer tops on sale at Sierra Trading Post for 9.99. The fit perfectly and no odor there!

Because the average woman has wider hips and narrower waist than men do (I sure do). Men's stuff is usually cut to reflect their more straight up and down shape. Thus, when women get a man's item big enough to fit their hips, it will often have a waist that is loose (bunchy). I have had this problem enough times to know that I just can't wear most men's stuff. If you are a woman with small hips however, this is not an issue.

Ok, now I see what you mean. Unless the jersey is REALLY long, I shouldn't run into too much of a hip problem. The main width of my hips is far below my belly button which itself is low on my already long torso. My waist is narrow, but until you get to my hips, I'm very much a triangle. Some size charts I've looked at for men I'd have to size up a little to get the right length (some have height correlations).

But then I looked at others like on the Specialized website (I was ordering other stuff), and even the XS Euro cut is really really really tall (they give you length of jersey in front and back in inches from shoulder seam). And kind of large everywhere.

I haven't made it to the Patagonia store yet, but I'm so far happy with my UA baselayers. Now I need actual jerseys (LS or SS) to wear over them, because I need pockets. The Voler jersey I just ordered for my team won't arrive till maybe mid Jan. So I can't wear it. Plus I need something for practicing to save that for races. I hope it fits. One in my LBS did...a little wide in the body but enough room for a baselayer which I'll definitely wear around here.

Thanks Robyn for your opinion on Craft. Stinky shirts are not good.
